- The Italian Institute of Navigation (I.I.N.) was founded in 1959 and is Member Founder of the International Association of the Navigation Institutes (I.A.I.N.) - which as of now includes 21 countries - and of the European Group of Institutes of Navigation (E.U.G.I.N.) which, today, includes 8 european countries.

The Institute aims to promote the technical and scientific development of Navigation, contributing to the diffusion of the knowledge of the relevant disciplines and of the navigation systems' and techniques exploitation means, for the benefit of people and socio-economic welfare.

The Site provides key data about the Institute organization, informs on the Resources that are made available to the general public and to the Members, provides an update of main events of economic, political, industrial, and scientific nature, and lists WEB pages of interest to Internet Surfers.
